“Prehab” is commonly used to reduce inflammation, increase range of motion, and improve muscle strength for better outcomes after surgery. This type of rehab is ordered by your physician when he/she feels the tightness or weakness you have may delay your recovery.
Post operative Therapy
Post-op Rehab may begin as early as a few days after surgery to a couple of weeks later depending on what type of surgery you have. This type of rehab typically is about protecting the anatomy that was repaired/reconstructed, reducing inflammation, increasing range of motion, restoring muscle strength, and normalizing body mechanics to allow you to return to your normal daily life activities.
Also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, is the use of solid filiform needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome. Dry Needling has many uses and may be used to help with reducing myofasicial trigger points, decreasing pain, restarting the inflammation process (necessary for healing) which has stalled out, or reducing scar tissue around incisions.
